During the spring semester of 2022, I volunteered and was a graphic design intern with the non-profit UHAMBO 8286, a non-profit focused on giving small business owners in the former apartheid communities in South Africa the tools they need to sustainably generate income to care for their families and the community. Founded and ran by College of Business Professor Karen Manning, I was able to directly work with Lindner College of Business students and small business owners from South Africa to create logos and brand identities for Nellie’s Eats & Treats and Enatie’s Studio Salon. We then got to travel to South Africa for two weeks.
